Sotomayor is the new Supreme Court judge. I have a few things to say about this issue. There is a large debate about race and Obama’s reasons for the nomination.
First of all, Obama has added more diversity to positions than any other president. We have the first black head of NASA and many others. This is a fact, but I am writing to prove how this has NOTHING to do with Sotomayor. Sotomayor was originally put into any form of power by George Bush, Sr. Sotomayor was moved up in the ranks to become a federal judge by Clinton. Currently, she has been moved to Supreme Court judge by Obama.
Notice the record here. Both parties have promoted her and only now we call it a race issue because of Obama being black. Where are your priorities? If you want to start a race argument, do it with something that Obama actually did without help. Bolden, a black man with no experience, has been placed in charge of NASA. Yet we focus on Sotomayor, who was simply the right choice for the job.
Get your facts straight before making accusations. The truth is that three presidents, in both parties, have seen merit in Sotomayor, two of whom were white guys. Get over it.
